Lenovo and Razer teams up for new gaming PCs

Two big names in the PC industry has announced a partnership and we already have a glimpse of what they are offering, starting with a desktop tower.

Razer and Lenovo’s collaboration fruit is a special Razer Edition Lenovo Y Series desktop tower. The tower is a familiar Y series chassis with an accent color of Razer’s signature green. There’s also a multi-color light glow underneath the case, which should be really nice in the dark. While this is just a prototype, we can expect something like this when they officially launch their new gaming line of PCs.

Aside from giving Lenovo PCs a Razer make-over, software programs is also part of the deal between the two and we can expect these to come with future Lenovo-Razer computers. Official new PCs will launch at CES 2016 and more will follow.

PC gaming market is really starting to grow as more gamers (casual and heavy) are into having nice rigs with good performance. ASUS ROGs might see some stiff competition if the partnership goes well.

Google Chrome will end support for XP, Vista, and OS X 10.8

Google_Chrome_iconGoogle Chrome has announced through its blog that it will discontinue supporting old operating systems from Microsoft and Apple.

If you’re running Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8, we’re sad to tell that these platforms running Chrome will no longer receive updates and security fixes from the browser’s parent company by April 2016. Although, you can still use Chrome even after the support.

The mentioned operating systems are no longer officially supported by its makers, thus, as Google said, “Such older platforms are missing critical security updates and have a greater potential to be infected by viruses and malware.”

Microsoft Surface Mini did exist, confirmed by Surface VP

SURFACE PRO 3

Microsoft Surface is indeed a popular product from the Redmond giant. Although, not everyone prefers using a relatively big tablet when on the go. What’s the solution? A mini version. Sadly, it didn’t had the spotlight.

The “Surface Mini” was expected to be launched after Surface Pro 3 but reports say that it was cancelled due to issues of profitability. It even showed up in the Surface Pro 3 manual, thus further suggests the tablet’s existence.

So, the Mini did exist and Surface VP Panos Panay even confirmed it to Wired. According to Panay, he held the tablet every day and he even called it “awesome” and “was like Moleskine” as he used to jot down notes on it. Even with the actual making of the Surface Mini pushed trough, chances of producing it for consumer market is still a blur.

Hyperlapse video app for Android now out of beta

Microsoft‘s Hyperlapse video app is now out of its beta state and is now available for download to Android phones as a full software.

Microsoft Hyperlapse-2

About two months ago, Windows introduced its video-smoothing software for creating time lapse on Windows phones and even PCs. During that time, its Android counterpart was still limited to the beta version. Now, the company makes available a full-functioning app ready to be downloaded on your devices.

Again, this isn’t to be confused with Hyperlapse for Instagram users on iOS, although they both produce the same effect. To know more about the app, check out how the algorithm does its magic.

To download the Android app, simply follow this link.
