Hours after Microsoft officially announced the release date of Windows 10, notifications have started popping up to desktop users running a legit version of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.
We started seeing the small Windows logo popped up an hour ago in the taskbar of our laptop.
Clicking on the icon directs you to a window that outlines the process of upgrading to Windows 10.
Once you confirm your free upgrade, Windows 10 will eventually be downloaded in the background once it becomes available. Another notification will prompt you once the download is complete and ask you to do the upgrade right away or schedule it at a later time.
Windows 10 will be released globally on July 29 and will be a free upgrade to legit users of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. OEM prices start at $109 for the Home version and $149 for the Pro version.
