From collaboration to partnership, Wireless Gigabit Alliance and WiFi Alliance have recently announced that they’re no longer a separate entity rather a single organization aimed at establishing a seamless and interoperable wireless connectivity.
To reach their goal, the organization is looking to utilize each other’s strengths and incorporate those to form a better wireless implementation. Their first project involves the use of the 60GHz technology which, according to Peter Cooney of ABI Research, “is an important part of the future of wireless connectivity, and a significant complement to traditional Wi-Fi networking.”
Besides announcing their partnership and their plans of further developing the wireless connectivity through 60GHz technology, the organization has nothing new in store for us just yet. But you can bet that whatever they’re working on right now will revolutionize the way we look at Wireless Fidelity.
