PS Vita 2000 and Vita TV also make its local debut

PS4 Accessories weren’t the only ones who got invited to the PlayStation 4’s local launch. Sony’s latest gaming console also shared the stage with the PS Vita 2000 and the PS Vita TV.

The first version of the PS Vita looked promising on paper, but didn’t quite please the gaming crowd due to some of its drawbacks. Luckily though, Sony has made few yet crucial adjustments on the new PS Vita making it thinner (by 20%) and lighter (by 15%) compared to the previous model.

Furthermore, the company has added a 1GB on-board memory to the PS Vita 2000, as well as dropping the proprietary charging port and replacing it with Micro-USB port. Unfortunately, should wish to expand the storage, you’d still have to shell out additional cash for the pricey PS Vita Game Card.

The Sony PS Vita 2000 is now available in the market and it’s currently being retailed for Php11,999. You can choose from these six different color variants; Black, Khaki, Light Blue, Pink/Black, Yellow and White.

Lastly we have the PS Vita TV, a non-portable console gaming device that connects to a TV or monitor through HDMI. It supports up to two DualShock 3 controllers and has ports for Ethernet and USB which further expands its functionality.

But where the PS Vita TV shines most is when it’s used alongside a PlayStation 4. Through the Remote Play feature, users can stream games/contents from their PS4 to the PS Vita TV which will then allow them to continue on with their game someplace else while their gaming console is being used for other things.

The PlayStation Vita TV is now available locally and will set you back Php8,599 a pop. The package includes a DualShock 3 controller and a standard 1-year warranty.
