769 students from the Valenzuela City School of Mathematics and Science (ValMaSci) held their classes for the first time at their new campus located at A. Pablo Street in Malinta last September 8.

With the construction lasting for six months, this 199-million campus with 20 classrooms in a mall-esque design and six laboratories with internet-equipped smart boards, this large investiture aims to upscale the local educational system as part of their 360-Degree Investiture Program.

This is a far cry from the lone building the school had before. Principal James Tan described their only science laboratory as a “typical high school science laboratory; just five microscopes and a fume hood.”

“With something as grand as this, we want to stir an interest in mathematics and science among the youth in Valenzuela City,” Mayor Rex Gatchalian said during the tour of the new educational facility.

To be able to enter into ValMaSci, one must be a bonafide resident of Valenzuela city and bear grades no lower than 85%, and must pass their admission examination.
