Since its formal separation from Sony, VAIO has been quietly making a comeback. Sticking to its aesthetic in hardware design, they have announced their new smartphone powered by Windows 10.

The VAIO Phone Biz is made out of silver-finished aluminum that shouts premium. Its LCD is sized at 5.5 inches with full HD resolution. Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset w/ 3GB of RAM. Camera department is handled by a 13-megapixel rear shooter and an LED flash.

VAIO is back in the US market on Monday

Since it was sold by Sony last year, VAIO kept a low profile but they introduced their upcoming PCs in early February of 2015. Jumping to today, they are back in the market with their high-end offering.

The VAIO Z Canvas is a Windows 10 machine with a detachable keyboard dock. Unlike most convertibles, Z Canvas’ is physically disconnected from its dock when in use. It also has a digitizer stylus for sketching and writing on its 12.3-inch IPS WQXGA+ LCD (2560 x 1704 pixels). Its display is claimed to have 95% coverage of the Adobe RGB spectrum, making it ideal for professionals.

VAIO’s first-ever smartphone unveiled

VAIO smartphone to arrive March 12 w/ 64-bit CPU, Android Lollipop

It looks like a VAIO-branded smartphone is currently in the pipeline and should arrive early next month according to Japan Communications. This handset is said to carry midrange specs like a 5-inch HD display, a 64-bit processor, while running on Android 5.0 out of the box.
