If you still aren’t aware, Windows 10 is now available in PH as a free upgrade and here’s how you get it on your PC today. Although if you’re one of those users who prefer to get an ISO file to use on a USB or DVD then listen up!

Here’s how to get the Windows 10 ISO files as instructed by Microsoft:

Before you begin:

  • Make sure you have:
    • An internet connection (internet service provider fees may apply).
    • Sufficient data storage available on a computer, USB or external drive for the download.
    • A blank USB or DVD (and DVD burner) with at least 4 GB of space if you want to create media. We recommend using a blank USB or blank DVD, because any content on it will be deleted.
  • Read the System Requirements.
  • If you will be installing the operating system for the first time, you will need your Windows product key (xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx).
  • For Enterprise editions please visit the Volume Licensing Service Center.

Use the media creation tool to download Windows. This tool provides the best download experience for customers running Windows 7, 8.1 and 10. To learn how to use the tool, go to the Installing Windows 10 using the media creation tool page. Tool includes:

  • File formats optimized for download speed.

Windows 10 now available in PH as free upgrade

Today marks the availability of the much-awaited Windows 10 in the Philippines as well as its Windows Store and Windows Software Development Kit to download new apps.

Some of the key features of Windows 10 include:

  • Return of the Start menu and Live Tiles
  • Most secure Windows yet
  • Enhanced Windows Defender and SmartScreen against viruses, malware, and phishing
  • Windows Hello for password-free way of logging in
  • Free updates
  • Voice, pen, and gesture inputs
  • Cortana as digital assistant
  • Microsoft Edge for easy browsing
  • Continuum for app optimization
  • Office Mobile apps

Being one of the 190 countries that will receive this update, eligible devices that run Windows 7 and 8.1 can get it on their PCs and tablets through the free upgrade offer. New Windows 8.1 devices will also easily upgrade to Windows 10. In addition, they mentioned that even retail stores would be glad to help with upgrading the new devices.

Lastly, the new Windows Store and Windows Software Development Kit kicks off today as well –it lets users download new software and apps that the company says will further make the experience more enjoyable.

Google recently announced the developer preview for its upcoming Android M software and with that, we already have the first group of devices that were able to try it out. This time, a bunch of Sony Xperia phones take a go at the new update. We have the list of eligible devices after the break.
