As Google promised, the latest version of Android dubbed “Marshmallow” is now available as an update for selected Nexus devices. Users can now wait for the OTA update to reach their region.

Android 6.0 “Marshmallow” update is available for the following Nexus devices:
Nexus 5
Nexus 6
Nexus 7 (2013)
Nexus 9
Nexus Player

It’s sad not to see Nexus 9 and Nexus 10 in the official list. Both were released 2 years ago, thus reaching their official update threshold of 2 years.

The latest version is labeled as 6.0.0 with a build name of MRA58K.

Apple rolls out update for iOS 9.0.2

After releasing iOS 9.0.1 last week, Apple has released a newer patch to its latest iOS under the 9.0.2 update.

The update includes fixes for data usage, iMessage, iCloud Backup, notifications, and Apple’s Podcast app. The download size varies by device.

iOS 9 was released last month with new features like smarter Siri, multitasking features for the iPad, improved built-in apps, better Maps app, redesigned Notes app, and system enhancements to improve performance, security and battery life.

Microsoft announces Office 2016 for Windows and Mac

As the latest addition to Office 365, Microsoft announces the worldwide release of its Office 2016 for both Windows and Mac devices. This update brings new versions of the Office desktop for Windows including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Project, Visio, and Access.

“The way people work has changed dramatically, and that’s why Microsoft is focused on reinventing productivity and business processes for the mobile-first, cloud-first world,” said Satya Nadella, chief executive officer of Microsoft. “These latest innovations take another big step forward in transforming Office from a familiar set of individual productivity apps to a connected set of apps and services designed for modern working, collaboration and teamwork.”

Starting today, Office 365 subscribers can choose to download the new Office 2016 apps as part of their subscription. Automatic updates will begin rolling out to consumer and small-business subscribers next month, and to commercial customers early next year. It is is also available today as a one-time purchase for both PCs and Macs through local resellers such as Electroworld, Silicon Valley, PC Express, Octagon, PC Worx, Villman, Complink, and Gigahertz.
