The newest member of the Snapdragon family will cater to Ultra HD (4K) TV. It is a sibling of the powerful Snapdragon 800 and the upcoming Snapdragon 805. The Snapdragon 802 will empower your smart TV to playback 4K content (if you have one) and run applications that is actually usable. Alongside is the multi-tasking capability that can handle 4 simultaneous HD playback. The dedicated video-processing engine, Hollywood Quality Video (HQV), can upscale your 1080p video to near 4K quality so you can enjoy your current titles.

- Adreno 330 GPU

Polaroid announces 50-inch Ultra 4K TV for $1,000

Polaroid enters the living room scene with the introduction of its own TVs which include a 50-inch Smart TV and a 4K Ultra HD model which is priced at $1,000.

The Polaroid 50GSR9000 50-inch 4K Ultra HD TV is the company’s first UHD TV which claims to offer the highest quality picture resolution at the best price. True enough, the MSRP is at $999.99 which is far cheaper than most UHD TVs from other popular brands.

However, Polaroid is not the first brand to offer an affordable Ultra HD TV as TCL also made a similar offering back in July in the form of the 7E51040 Ultra HD TV which carries the same price tag.

In addition to the 4K TV, Polaroid is also offering its 50GSR7100 50-inch Roku Ready Smart TV which costs $599.99.

Both LED TVs sport three HDMI ports and come equipped with an updated bezel and TV stand. Availability is yet to be announced but is scheduled to make an appearance at CES 2014.
