Having fun with Instagram

Am quite the late bloomer to Instagram. Whereas others have hundreds of photos already, I only have something like 59.I have to admit: Pinterest came first but right now, am just so loving IG already! First reason: the celebrities are here _ from Rachel Zoe to Ruffa Gutierrez to Kris Aquino. I get to know what rocks their world and at times, they take pictures of most mundane objects and I don’t care. Am still star-struck

Second reason: the different shooting modes make me feel like am a better photographer. No kidding, this app is brilliant because it works like a digicam, and more! Even if I take a crappy photo, when I use Hudson, Lo-Fi , Valencia or any of the effects that apply digital filter, the photo is transformed. Just take a look at this one taken inside my (unoccupied) apartment. I just wanted to take a photo of the DREAM word in wood which I got for only 98 pesos in one of my shopping trips.I loved how Instagram made it all so dramatic..pang Pinterest ang dating

So yes, when I now see objects that I like, am always compelled to take a photo for Instagram. Another favorite subject is my youngest daughter Lucia. She’s now in that stage where am seeing a lot of milestones.

Twitter account got hacked? what to do

It always feels like an invasion of privacy when your online account is violated. This is what happened to me a few weeks ago when my Twitter account was hacked. Unfortunately, I wasn’t in front of the computer when it happened so I just got messages from concerned friends telling me that they think my Twitter was hacked. Apparently, I was sending them messages that looked like this one:

I researched online and found out that this is the so-called Direct Message (DM) phishing scam. A lot of people have sent me the same hacking DMs before and I unknowingly clicked on one of the links which often says “I’ve heard some nasty rumor about you…” This is how I became a hacking victim myself.

What to do when you fall victim to the Twitter scam yourself?

Of course change your password immediately. Make your pwd a strong one.

Do not click on any link which asks for your Twitter password. It’s called a phishing scam because the “nasty rumors” message will redirect you to a website which looks like Twitter (but is actually isn’t). It will ask for your Twitter login details and that’s how your account is hacked

Aiaiai Tracks headphone review

Headphones are probably one of the most in-demand items right now, and more so that the holiday season is fast approaching. I can think of one person to give the device to: my teenage boy who always has to have something on his ear for to listen to music on his phone, watching Youtube, and even while biking.

The past year has made me familiar with headphones as I road-tested one brand to another. Good thing there’s competition. At this rate, we can only expect better products and features.

The Aiaiai Tracks headphone is the latest to fall on my lap.I hardly can spell or pronounce this brand which is headquartered in Denmark but they have gained awards and positive reviews about their products. Here is the package when it arrived. First impression: thin and sleek!

The pack already includes three sets of interchangeable colored sliders and a carrying pouch. The kit needed to be assembled so I had the resident geek (read: hubby) do the honors. You can see that the product really focuses on mobility because both the stainless steel headband and 2mm cables were very lightweight. Once worn, it felt like it wasn’t on my head at all (which was strange).

The catalog says Aiaiai was made for Apple products (iPod, iPhone, iPad) but some browsing led me to the fact that they’re compatible with Blackberry and possibly others. This means that you will not only be able to listen to music but take calls as well if you’re using a smartphone device.

Now for the road test: I was impressed that the sounds coming from the headset really kicked some punch, especially when it came to the bass and trebles.’ twas surprising that something so small and thin can rock it through low and high volume. I would definitely give this waif-like headphone the thumbs up!
