Suzuki Celebrates 40 Years of Partnership with Wheeltek

Suzuki celebrates 40 years of partnership with one of the country’s biggest motorcycle distributors – Wheeltek Motor Sales Corporation. As Wheeltek turned the Trinoma Activity Center as the hub of their 4 decades of excellence in the Philippine motoring scene on September 27 to 28, Suzuki came in with its aesthetically impressive display highlighting the brand’s latest Fuel-injection technology and big bikes. The display carries Wheeltek’s push models of Suzuki’s small and big bikes – the Raider J 115 Fi, Shooter 15 Fi, Smash 115 and Skydrive as well as the Suzuki GSR 750 and V-Strom 650.

Suzuki also provided a lot of surprises to the booth visitors by giving out freebies to those who like or share their fan page. Doing this automatically qualified the fans to participate in Smash 115 Raffle Promo!

Fans also got a chance to take their photos with the lovely Suzuki Fi ladies and FHM’s 100 Sexiest’s Alex Moreno.

And as if those were not enough, they got a Suzuki Fi Cap upon sharing these photos on their Facebook walls!

Wheeltek’s exhibit area showcased their 40 years of history marking each decade with a milestone. Back in 1974, Dr. Reynaldo Odulio and Mrs. Rosario Teresita Odulio established their business of distributing motorcycles under the name of Peer Marketing in their home garage with only three motorcycle units. These motorcycles are all Suzuki ascertaining the fact that Suzuki is the first brand of choice that Wheeltek had during its foundation.

At the Supplier’s Night during the first day of their exhibit, Suzuki President Mr. Hiroshi Suzuki, Managing Director Ms. Catalina Calderon, General Manager for Sales and Marketing of Motorcycle Division Mr. Eiji Kobayashi and General Manager for Admin and Finance Mr. Norminio Mojica, handed over the Japanese giant’s token of appreciation to the Odulio Family. The memento is a round wheel-like token made of an ultra-clear glass topped with a translucent text “40th Anniversary”. The token symbolizes Suzuki and Wheeltek’s long partnership that have surpassed the test of time. The round shape signifies a Wheel which is the part that moves the motorcycle to where it is going and just like how Suzuki and Wheeltek’s partnership brought the two to where they are today.

Suzuki showcased a line-up of seven cars, including a refresh of the Jimny 4×4 off-roader and the Grand Vitara SUV, and two big bikes.

Suzuki owners get free help vs rains

The rains are here and Suzuki is helping its customers prepare their cars for the floods and traffic. Suzuki Philippines, the only integrated automobile and motorcycle company in the country, is offering Free Check-Up Service Campaign to its loyal customers. On June 20 and 21, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Suzuki customers in Quezon City can avail of the free 23-point car check-up during the Suzuki @ Work service camp at Suzuki Auto Commonwealth.

This two-day Suzuki @ Work service camp is an annual aftersales effort that offers a free comprehensive car check-up on all Suzuki automobiles— even those with expired warranties. Aside from the free automobile check-up, service camp participants will also get to enjoy 15% discount on spare parts and 15% on labor during the event.

Kiefer Ravena goes on a Summer Roadtrip with his Suzuki Swift

UAAP basketball phenom Kiefer Ravena of the Ateneo de Manila University takes a break from his very busy schedule and brings his friends to a roadtrip using his Suzuki Swift. Driving his 1.4 L Suzuki sports compact, Kiefer spends a wakeboarding weekend with his buddies in Nuvali, Laguna.

The Wakeboarding Experience

Along with three of his best buddies, Kiefer started summer earlier this year with a road trip to the Republ1c Wakepark in Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna. An enthusiast of water sports, Kiefer wants to share with his friends the exhilaration that wakeboarding brings. There were a lot of laughs and gaffes at the onset, but after a few rounds, all of his friends got the hang of wakeboarding and they all had a fun-filled day.

Moments like these are what fuel Kiefer to manage the daily grind of being a top athlete at such a young age. In spite of his busy schedule, he tries to find time to relax by doing one of the things he enjoys doing the most – going on out of town trips.

The Long Trip

“Being away from the city and from the basketball court even for just a day is already out of the ordinary for me. With my busy training and practice schedules, it’s very hard for me to find time like this to enjoy an out-of-town vacation with my friends,” Kiefer shares.

To help drivers like Kiefer stay awake during long trips, the Suzuki Swift offers a pleasurable audio experience with its high-end stereo with a CD player and a USB socket. The surround music played through 6 speakers makes each drive a fun and entertaining one.

This compact is definitely a perfect companion for road trips because it produces an impressive power of 94bhp at 6,000 rpm and a torque of 130Nm at 4,000 rpm— more than enough to carry a bunch of friends and some luggage. The Swift’s compact and stylish interior has big and comfortable body-hugging seats that can fit five people, including 6-foot basketball players just like the friends that Kiefer tagged along with him in this trip.

Aside from his drive to Nuvali, Kiefer shares that the farthest he has brought his Suzuki Swift to is Tagaytay where he drove uphill to get an overlooking view of the Taal volcano. Just the same, Kiefer shares that driving the Swift to Tagaytay was a breeze.

The Daily Drive

Beyond taking his car for long drives, Kiefer uses his Swift more for his daily trips to school and to the gym. “I’m very attached to my Suzuki Swift. I drive it every day to school and to practice. I like that it’s compact yet I am still able to fit all of my basketball gear,” he shares. With a back seat that can be folded to provide more luggage space, Kiefer definitely has a lot of room inside the car where he can load his stuff.

“I also like using it daily because it is very easy to manoeuvre, it helps me save on fuel, and it doesn’t give me a hard time parking,” Kiefer adds. With the Swift’s improved transmission, gear shifts are made smoother and manoeuvring through daily city traffic has become practically effortless.

The car’s compact body also makes it very easy for the driver to secure parking spaces. All these plus superior fuel economy and environmental performance makes the Suzuki Swift an ideal partner whether it be for long drives or for quick, short trips to and from school every day.

The Lowdown

With his experiences with the Suzuki Swift, Kiefer recommends the car for first-time car owners. He quips, “For start-up drivers, if you want a car that fits your budget perfectly, offers comfortability and easy manoeuvrability, provides utmost safety and is low on fuel consumption, then I would definitely recommend the Suzuki Swift. It’s really worth the price and it gives great value for money.”
