Sony launches 4K resolution Action Cam in PH

Sony Philippines launches its 4K Action Cam that aims to battle out the leading brands in terms of versatility in shooting. In addition they also introduced its lower-spec’d variant — these are the FDR-X100V and HDR-AS200V.

Sony also introduced new features and accessories for both the X1000V and the AS200V:

  • Highlight Movie Maker – it’s basically a function that intelligently creates a short, edited video that it took from your shots — complete with background music.
  • New Live View Remote RM-LVR2 - a remote that is waterproof up to 3m. It controls both the action cams to start/stop recording, video playback, deletion of files.
  • Built-in GPS and Action Cam Movie Creator - Both action cams have built-in GPS that lets users utilize the provided Action Cam Movie Creator software and produce custom videos with GPS Data Overlay.

It’s also important to note that Sony will be releasing a new mobile application that offers customers a simple approach to pro-level video editing. The official Action Cam app will be available for download on both Android and iOS platforms in the first half of 2015.

The new 4K Action Cam FDR-X1000V is priced at Php27,999, and comes with free Live View Remote (RM-LVR2) and 16GB Micro SD Card. The full HD Action Cam HDR-AS200V is priced at Php 20,999 and also comes with a free Live View Remote (RM-LVR2) and 16GB Micro SD Card. Both will be available starting April 10, 2015.
