Globe offers free access to Spotify for GoSURF subs

In line with its successful local debut, Globe Telecom, Spotify’s exclusive partner in the country, will give GoSURF postpaid subscribers free access to Spotify Premium starting on Sunday, April 13.

Spotify is a music streaming service recently which was recently made available in the country and has a mobile app available on iTunes App Store, Google Play Store and for Windows Phone devices.

The basic service is free (with ads), but users can opt to upgrade their account to Premium for Php129/month which removes the ads and gives them more access to features and services that are not available on basic account.

However, Globe Telecom will be waiving the Spotify Premium fee off starting on April 13 and will give new and existing GoSURF postpaid subscribers access to Spotify Premium free of charge.

GoSURF Prepaid users, on the other hand, will be given a day’s worth of access to Spotify Free on their mobile device whenever they subscribe to the GoSURF 10. The best part here is that using Spotify will not eat up any of the 10MB data allowance that is given to them when they sign up for the promo.

Spotify PH becomes official; Php129 for Premium

We first leaked the news back in January about Spotify coming to the Philippines (and we were asked to take it down by several entities). Then, a couple of weeks ago, we spotted the limited release of Spotify via the Coca-Cola FB Page. Today, it’s official.

Spotify is finally, and fully, available in the Philippines.

While the basic service is free, there is a Premium account that you can subscribe to for Php129/month (it’s $5 a month in the US). The Spotify app is now available for download in the PH iTunes Store and Google Play Store.

We also received an invite from Globe to an event tonight about their partnership with Spotify and we hear the Premium service will be free to some subscribers. Will confirm this later.
