Mid-range Sony Xperia ‘HuaShan’ leaks

Leaked shots of what is reported to be Sony’s upcoming mid-range smartphone – the Xperia C5303 “HuaShan”, has appeared online.

The HuaShan’s design took hints from the recently announced Xperia Z and ZL, using the signature power button located at the mid-right side and a rectangular body with rounded corners. Its rear, however, isn’t glass-clad but made of plastic with a matte finish.

Being a mid-ranger, the Xperia ‘HuaShan’ won’t sport a 1080p display and quad-core processors like the recently announced flagships. Instead, it will be using a 720p display and a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU.

A photo shows that it’s already running Android 4.1.2 Jellybean out of the box but other details like the official product name, display size, camera specs, RAM, internal storage, pricing and availability remain uknown. We’re expecting these things to come to light next month at MWC 2013.

Something to mull over: ‘HuaShan’ is actually the name of one of China’s Five Great Mountains. Does this mean that we’re going to see four more of these mid-rangers this year?
