In line with the IFA event in Berlin, Sony has also introduced its newest members of the VAIO Tap family – the Windows 8-powered VAIO Tap 11 tablet PC and the All-In-One VAIO Tap 21.
The VAIO Tap 11 is a tablet PC that sports an 11.6-inch touchscreen with Full HD IPS display and is powered by Intel Core processors with up to Core i7 and Solid State Drives of up to 128GB. It is also equipped with an 8 megapixel Exmor RS for PC rear camera, SD card reader, USB 3.0, and HDMI out. All of these are housed in a body that is just 0.39-inch thick or 9.9 mm.
The Tap 11 seems to take a shot at the Surface Pro as well as it features an aluminum magnetic full pitch keyboard/cover with a touch pad, and a Sony digitizer pen should users wish for a more productive setup.
Next is the VAIO Tap 21 which is the successor to last year’s VAIO Tap 20. Compared to its predecessor, it is 50% thinner and 30% lighter and is now encased in aluminum with clean edges.
It sports a 21.5-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen display and will come with an Intel Core i5 or i7 CPU, and SSD or HHD configurations.
Pricing and availability of the VAIO Tap 11 and VAIO Tap 21 are yet to be announced.
