Sony has finally unveiled at the Mobile Asia Expo in Shanghai its latest wrist-worn technology and the successor to last year’s SmartWatch, the SmartWatch 2.
The SmartWatch 2 still works as a companion to your primary Android device. It carries a larger 1.6-inch display with 220 x 176 resolution, the same aluminum construction but with thinner bezels, and a revamped and improved UI. Sony also added three capacitive buttons at the bottom to make UI easier to navigate.
What’s more notable about the SmartWatch 2 is that Sony equipped it with NFC for easy pairing, support for microUSB charging, and IP57-certification making the SW2 dust and water resistant.
The Sony SmartWatch 2 will be available worldwide starting September of this year. Pricing is yet to be announced.
