Sony Xperia Z2 officially available for Php33,990

After seeing it first in Barcelona, the Sony Xperia Z2 is finally available for purchase in the Philippines. The company also announces the availability of the SmartBand SWR10 together with its price tag.

The Sony Xperia Z2 is now available in black, white, and purple colorways in all Sony Centers, Xperia shops, and other authorized dealers for Php33,990. As part of the Xperia VIP program, Xperia Z2 owners are entitled to an after-sales support that ensures convenience to customers in the event that there is a product defect.

Sony’s smartband, the SWR10, works closely with the Z2 to log your life using the Lifelog app. It basically works like Acer’s (possibly free) smartband that tracks your daily activities. It also has smart notifications delivered straight to your wrist so you won’t miss anything important. It will be available in June for Php4,490.

To avail of the VIP services mentioned earlier, owners can set an appointment made by telephone at 1-800-1-854-7669 or at +63 (2) 479-9777 at any time between 8AM to 6PM from Mondays to Fridays and 8AM to 1PM on Saturdays, excluding public holidays.

Xperia Z2 gets performance and stability improvements

The Sony Xperia Z2 already sees an update in less than a month after it was launched here in the Philippines. Read all the improvements after the break.

The latest available software (version 17.1.A.2.55) includes the following improvements:

  • Improved camera performance & function with faster start time and better auto focus
  • Enhanced in-call audio with fine-tuned noise cancellation
  • Improved FM radio function
  • Graphics improvements with smoother scrolling and image movement
  • Improved stability with the latest bug fixes and enhancements

The Xperia Z2 is yet to be available in stores here in the Philippines, but if you somehow managed to secure yourself a unit, you may check the current software version of your phone by going to Settings > About phone > Build number/version.
