In addition to the watchOS 3 and macOS Sierra, Apple also introduced the new iOS 10 during this year’s WWDC.
Here’s a rundown on both the new and improved features:
- Raise your wrist and display unlocks
- Redesigned Control Center with easy access to music
- Easier access to widgets
- Siri now open to developers involving other programs
- Quick Type makes Siri smarter; no need to change keyboards when typing in different language
- Advanced facial recognition
- New tab called Memories for your photos which intelligently groups your media altogether for easier viewing and sharing
- Smart video editor that lets you choose the style of editing (epic, slow, etc) for instant sharing
- Dynamic View on Maps for easier navigation
- Maps Extension is open for third party developers
- Redesigned Apple Music
- News app creates selected lineup depending on your interests/has breaking news notifications
- New Home app now has more control over the accessories of your connected house
- Voicemail now has transcriptions so you could read your missed calls on the go
- Camera and photos are easily accessible in Messaging
- 3X bigger emojis with emoji predictions/emojify your text by just tapping the words
- Bubble effects on Messaging (loud, invisible ink, subtle)
- Handwritten messages/full-screen effects
- Improved privacy for users
Developer preview starts immediately with public beta coming in July. It will be available as a free download on different Apple devices.
