Singapore Airlines Extends Celebrations for Singapore’s 50th Birthday

As the flag carrier of The Lion City, Singapore Airlines commemorated Singapore’s 50th National Day last August 9, 2015 with special treats for its passengers flying from Manila.

Showcasing the World Gourmet Cuisine that Singapore Airlines is known for, food is definitely one of the things one can look forward to at the SilverKris Lounge Manila, Singapore Airlines’ new ‘home away from home’ located at NAIA Terminal 3. On August 9, SilverKris Lounge Manila put the spotlight on Singapore’s gastronomic fare as it featured the signature Singapore Chicken Rice, and the Almond Beancurd, a favorite Singaporean dessert.

On the same day, a draw was organized for all Manila-Singapore flights and lucky passengers were presented with commemorative SG50 gift bags and giveaways. The Singapore flag was on display at the check-in counters with the Singapore Airlines staff dressed in the Singapore flag colors of red and white. The ticketing office in Makati is decorated as well with #SG50 theme.

Singapore Airlines General Manager Carol Ong said: “Singapore’s 50th National Day is a big milestone, for which many activities have been planned in Singapore and around the world. And on the big day, we want to ensure that our customers who are flying out of Manila are also able to experience the excitement and festive spirit, from our lounge to our flights.”

Singapore Airlines flies from Manila to Singapore four times daily which conveniently connect to onward flights to the rest of the world. Singapore Airlines continues its celebration of Singapore’s 50th year with celebratory fares and companion fares to various destinations in Australia and Europe from USD500, inclusive of baggage allowance, world gourmet cuisine, KrisWorld inflight entertainment system plus exceptional value deals in Singapore.

From 18 May to 1 June 2015, the Lion City’s flag carrier offers passengers companion fare at USD500 all-in to key destinations in Australia. Flyers may choose from Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. Companion fares starting from USD650 all-in are also available for flights to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Istanbul, London, Manchester, Milan, Moscow, Munich, Paris and Zurich.

Celebratory fares for individual travel are available to the same destinations in Australia at only USD680 while selected European cities may be availed at USD990 only, except for Barcelona which is priced at USD920. For every purchase of celebratory or regular fare, a traveler is entitled to one companion fare purchase that is the same itinerary. The companion fares are exclusively available to MasterCard branded credit, debit or prepaid cards.

More options and perks are also available to those who wish to have their stopovers in Singapore. Aside from a complimentary SGD20 Changi Dollar Voucher that can be used for shopping, dining and lounging at Changi Airport, travelers may also redeem a complimentary Singapore Stopover Holiday (SSH) package worth SGD555.
