The World’s Fastest Card (in terms of Write-Speed), the title that Toshiba once held with the EXCERIA PRO SDHC card, now belongs to SanDisk thanks to the new 120GB Exterme Pro CFast 2.0 CompactFlash card.
This ultrafast CF card touts a 350MB/s write-speed and 450MB/s top read-speed which SanDisk claims can breeze through a 100GB file in four minutes. Such speed will come in handy as 4K video recording is slowly becoming a trend in the industry.
Moreover, the CFast 2.0 comes with all the bells and whistles found on other Extreme Pro cards including tolerance against shock, temperature and vibration up to some extent. It also sports a new “pin-less” design which eliminates the possibility of damaging the camera’s pins when changing cards. Do note though that because of this pinless form factor, this CF card isn’t compatible with all cameras.
SanDisk hasn’t disclosed the official pricing of both the 60GB and 120GB variant of Exterme Pro CFast 2.0, but mentions that it’ll be available in various specialty shops and ARRI-authorized sellers and distributors.
