Samsung ATIV Tab 3 is a 10-inch Windows 8 tablet

Samsung today announced their first 10-inch Windows 8 tablet called the Samsung ATIV Tab 3. It follows the look and feel of the Galaxy Note 10.1 but runs Windows 8 instead.

The Samsung ATIV Tab 3 ahs a 10.1-inch display with a screen resolution of 1366×768 pixels. It’s very thin at just 8.2mm, weighs about 550 grams and comes with an S Pen, like the Galaxy Note 10.1 (including the S Note 2.0 software).

The tablet is powered by an Intel Atom Z2760 1.8GHz dual-core processor with 2GB of DDR3 RAM and 64GB built-in SSD storage. It has a 5-point touchscreen and runs Windows 8 so you can basically install any Windows applications as you would in a regular PC.

Samsung reps indicated they will eventually introduced accessories to it like a keyboard dock but not seen them here.

The biggest surprise here is that Samsung is including a full version of MS Office Home/Student Edition complete free right out of the box. No word on release date and price of the ATIV Tab 3. Samsung promises a full 8.5 hours on a single full charge.
