SGN3’s AnTuTu benchmark scores leaked

The highly anticipated successor of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has once again made the headlines and this time rumor mongers have got a hold of what is believed to be the rumored handset’s AnTuTu benchmark results. And it’s among the chart-toppers if we may add.

sgn3

The results page doesn’t actually name the handset as the Galaxy Note 3, but it shows a model number (GT-N7200) that highly suggests that it is indeed the SGN2’s (GT-N7100) successor. That is of course if the Samsung decides to keep its numbering scheme.

Another fascinating information revealed in the result page is that the handset used in the test is running on a yet-to-be-released version of Android (Android 4.3) and is powered by a processor with a clock speed of 1600Mhz or 1.6GHz.

As for the benchmark score, the alleged handset actually fared a little worse than the Galaxy S4 which got a score of 28,444 on our test. Regardless, the SGN3’s score (27,914) is still worthy of some props considering that the software installed on it is presumably still under development.

Of course, there’s a possibility that the test page shown above could be fake or rigged so do take this with your usual grain of salt.

Samsung to release Galaxy S4 Google Edition

Samsung is reported to be prepping up a Galaxy S4 Google Edition, running a stock version of Android instead of the TouchWiz UI.

According to Geek.com’s sources, the Samsung Galaxy S4 GE (Google Edition) will sport the same looks and internal hardware as the original flagship. Only this time it will be TouchWiz-free and will run on stock Android Jellybean. Although backed by Google, it is not to be confused with its Nexus line of smartphones.

A stock Android running inside a Galaxy S4 may not appeal to some but it could offer some advantages. First would be the immediate OS updates as soon as a new version of Android is released. Second is a bigger internal storage by dropping gimmicky features and bloatware.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition is reported to be unveiled at the Google I/O later tonight and is expected to be available in the US starting June.

Sony to unveil another 5” 1080p smartphone

Sony is really being aggressive with their high-end lineup for this year as they’re set to unveil another yet another 5-inch Full HD smartphone in the form of the Xperia A.

Apart from the display, the Sony Xperia A is seen bearing the same Omni-balance design cues of the Z and ZL. However, the handset is more akin to the latter as suggested by the lack of glass surface at the back.

Other details of the handset include a 16GB internal storage, 13MP main camera and a 2300mAh battery pack that, unlike the two flagship handset before, is removable. The report didn’t include the Xperia A’s engine, but we have a feeling that it won’t fall that far from the Z and ZL’s configuration.

The Sony Xperia A is rumored to make its debut in Japan on the 15th of this month and will be launched partnership with one of the biggest telco there, NTT DoCoMo.

Local Group Buying Site looking to sell for Php1.2 Billion

According to a source close to this group buying site, the company has been shopping itself around for a while now. The price tag — about Php1.2 billion in cold cash.

Not bad for an industry that has only been around for less than 3 years in the Philippines.

The group buying site is among the highest, if not the top, selling deal sites in the country and have reported gross revenues in the hundreds of million of pesos last year.

A number of local and international groups have been offered but no one has taken the deal yet. Once and if this happens, the sale could be the biggest ever in the start-up industry in the Philippines.
