Remix OS lets you install Android OS on a PC

Got an old PC lying around? Then you might want give it a new life on Android with the help of Remix OS.

Remix OS is made by a company called Jide Technology. Like what was mentioned earlier, it lets you install Android OS on an x86-based PC. It’s a forked version of Android, though, which is based on Android Lollipop. Since it is designed to be installed on a PC, the UI resembles a familiar Windows-like layout.

It supports Left and Right-click, Multitasking, Resizable Windows, Maximize/Minimize, and has its own Start Menu, Taskbar, System Tray, Notifications Tab, and File Manager. It even has a multi-window feature, allowing you to run multiple apps side by side just like you would on Windows or Mac.

And since this is Android, Google Play is here which gives you access to tons of apps. As for updates, Remix OS comes with its own OTA updater with Jide committed to send updates regularly. And yes, Android Marshmallow is in the pipeline.

To install Remix OS, you will need to download its installer on a USB 3.0 flash drive that supports FAT32 format, with a minimum capacity of 8GB and a recommended writing speed of 20MB/s. You also have the option to dual-boot it with your pre-existing OS.

It’s not available yet though but will soon arrive in mid-January as a free download. To learn more about Remix OS for PC, just hit the source link below.
