Lenovo’s new brand intros phone w/ 4100mAh battery, USB Type-C

Lenovo created a brand under its name and backed it up to compete with other Chinese companies like Huawei and Meizu. This startup, called ZUK, introduces its first product called the Z1 and it touts some flagship specs and features.

Apart from its USB data rate that maxes out at 500mbps, the U-Touch fingerprint reader has added functionalities that let you navigate the phone with simple swipes and taps:

  • Double-tap – Recent apps
  • Swipe horizontally – Switch between apps

The ZUK Z1 is now available for pre-order in China for CNY1,799 or approximately Php13K when directly converted.

Higher-end Xiaomi Mi Note for pre-order next month

An executive from Xiaomi discloses the pre-order date for the Mi Note that sports higher-end specs than the previously-launched variant. It will be up for reservation early next month.

Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, announces on his Weibo account that the top-end version of the Mi Note will be up for pre-order this May 6, 2015. It will have a CNY3299 price tag (approx. Php23K) which is a bit steep for a Xiaomi product, but taking a look at the internals that it would be carrying might be able to justify it.

In addition to those beefy specs, the upcoming Mi Note will be clad in metal with glass for its form factor.

Apple Watch now available for pre-order

The Cupertino-based company has already made its site open for pre-orders for its Apple Watch along with the new MacBook.

The pre-order for both products is exclusive online. The site contains details on different models of the Apple Watch with features and pricing included. Interested buyers can also schedule a ‘try-on appointment‘ that, well, lets you try on the watch before deciding to buy it.

After pre-ordering, delivery will start on April 24 for the Apple Watch and is available in the US, UK, China, Japan, Australia, France, Canada, Germany, and Hong Kong, while the new MacBook starts shipping today.
