HP launches Elite x2, battles Microsoft Suface

HP looks like it answers back to the popular Surface from Microsoft and introduces its new Elite x2 that’s designed for business use. One thing that makes this 2-in-1 tablet unique is its capability to be repaired and upgraded easily — eliminating the need to go out and have someone else do it for you.

HP Elite x2 specs:
12-inch Full HD display @ 1920 x 1080 resolution
Intel Core m3 vPro chip
4GB RAM (upgradable to 8GB)
128GB internal storage (upgradable to 512GB)
Active Pen stylus w/ Wacom technology
Travel Keyboard
USB Type-C
SIM slot
Wi-Fi 802.11ac
Windows 10 OS

It’s been reported that the rear part of the device can be unscrewed to replace some of its components easily including the screen, hard drive, or storage. This can also be done if you’ve decided to upgrade its parts like adding more memory. The company claims that it won’t be a cumbersome task to do these things so users no longer need to spend on labor to have them fixed or replaced.

Pre-orders will start at November 23 for $899 (approx. Php42K) for the base model, with shipping in the United States starting in early January. With these specs and pricing, do you think it will make you choose this device over the Surface lineup from Microsoft?
