Bb. Pilipinas 2013: our Top 10 finalists

Previously, I wrote about the Top 8 candidates who will make it to Bb. Pilipinas 2013. Since then, one of the bets we featured, Therese Fenger has withdrawn (reportedly due to a sexy FHM pictorial). So we’re revising our Top 8 list and making it to a Top 10. I am sure the rest of the country’s (gay) population are just excited as you and me about watching tomorrow’s pageant.

Who’s gonna make it to the Magic 10? Here’s our list:

1. Cassandra Naidas – her mom’s a Korean :)

2. Amanda Noelle Navasero
3. Hannah Ruth Sison
4. Anna Fernandina Buquid
5. Ma. Angelica De Leon

7. Arielle Arida
8. Ria Rabajante
9. Bea Rose Santiago
10. Pia Wurtzbach

Bea Rose Santiago & Pia Wurtzbach for Bb. Pilipinas 2013

We’re watching Bb. Pilipinas 2013 live tomorrow, and this is supposed to be a big event since the pageant is celebrating 50 golden years! Before this, I had the chance to view the candidates up close when they visited our company, Casino Filipino, which is a major sponsor. This year’s batch is lovely indeed, and we could just ogle at the girls’ uber-slim, whistle-bait figures.

This blog is betting on at least two ladies to become top placers of Bb. Pilipinas 2013: Bea Rose Santiago (schooled in Canada but representing Masbate City) and Pia Wurtzbach of Cagayan de Oro.

Up close, Bea Rose exudes the disposition of a beauty queen and reminds one of a title holder of yore, Chiqui Brosas. For me, she has the “it” factor and could have the edge over the other finalists in the Question and Answer portion. According to her Bb. Pilipinas bio, she loves to travel and was once in 12 cities in 2 countries, in just two months. She’s 22 years old and stands five feet 10 inches.

Pia Wurtzbach is no stranger to showbusiness, being known by her screen name Pia Romero in ABS-CBN. She’s 23 years old and stands five feet nine inches.

Good luck girls! :)

Janine Tugonon is back in Manila

First of all, am glad that our prediction of Ms. Janine Mari Tugonon faring well in Miss Universe 2012 came true! She’s now Miss Universe 1st runner up, a good 13 years after Miriam Quiambao was named one. We must say: you really did well Janine! If not for Olivia Culpo (Miss U/Miss USA) being the hometown favorite, you could have been The One. Good work still.

janine tugonon

In an interview aired over ABS-CBN, Tugonon expressed thanks that was able to reach the Miss Universe finals, especially the Top 5. “Thankful na ako na nakarating doon, dahil kaunting Pinay rin lang naman ang nakakarating sa ganoon, sa last spot, so happy na,” she said.

Tugonon added that she was half-expecting that Olivia Culpo will win as Miss Universe since the latter was popular and was heavily involved in pageant activities.”As Miss USA, Culpo was under the same group that organizes the yearly Miss Universe pageant,” Janine noted.

With her stellar finish in Miss Universe 2012, expect Janine to be swamped with offers for endorsements, modelling contracts and who knows, showbiz (like her predecessors). Congratulations to the pride of Orion, Bataan!
