While majority of the gaming community is focused on the next-gen gaming consoles & Steam machines, Razer goes out of the way to introduce Project Christine & the Nabu.
Project Christine is the company’s first desktop PC, and it is focused on making modding & customizing a breeze for average consumers. Since it’s entirely modular, the specs of the device can be wide range of configurations, but are not set yet. Razer basically just put the idea out there in the open to see if it gains traction, much like Kickstarter, and if it does get the interest that it needs, the company will push through with the product. The same thing happened with the gaming tablet called Project Fiona, now the Razer Edge.
The Razer Nabu on the other hand is the company’s take on wearable technology trends. It works with both Android & iOS, and there are two screens on the wristband – one for icons (32×32 pixel OLED) and one for notifications (128×32 pixel OLED). It is water resistant & will run up to 7 days in a charge according to Razer. Here is a list of what it can do so far:
- Gets you notifications from your smartphone and allows you to program gestures to respond to it.
- Tracks steps, calories burned, floors climbed, distance traveled, hours slept, places visited & personal goals.
- Razer Pulse will allow you to find other people with Nabus, and doing so, it will integrate with social media & tell you if you have friends nearby.
- Gestures will allow easy connections between Nabu users (e.g. shaking of hands).
- Potential to play large-scale games such as tag in a city or town.
Availability & prices are yet to be announced so stay tuned.
