Mitsubishi Motors Ph introduces the 2015 Pajero

The Pajero nameplate brings with it a rich heritage, from rally championships to being a symbol of luxury and power. As it proves to continuously perfect the right balance between capability and opulence, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) introduces the new 2015 Mitsubishi Pajero which is available in two variants–3.8 Liter MIVEC Gasoline and 3.2 Liter Di-Diesel.

Performance
The new Pajero continues to offer its full suite of rally-proven technologies such as the All Wheel Control with
its Super Select 4WD (SS4-II) system and the unique Mitsubishi Active Stability and Traction Control (M-ASTC).

The SS4-II system features torque distribution for more superior handling in a broad range of surfaces, from paved roads to basic dirt or slippery roads while the shift-on-the-fly system lets the driver shift from 4×2 to full time 4-wheel drive instantly and react immediately to changes in road conditions without having to stop. It also features a center differential lock for optimum traction on the roughest terrains.

The M-ASTC meanwhile utilizes a comprehensive network of intelligent sensors to monitor each wheel, engine speed, steering, and acceleration, and precisely manages engine output, power distribution, and braking force to deliver complete vehicle control and traction regardless of driving conditions.

The Pajero can handle any terrain better with its monocoque body design and 4-wheel independent suspension that offers increased wheel travel and keeping more tire surface against the ground for greater stability.

Engine and Transmission
This full suite of rally-proven technology allows the driver to benefit from the full potential of the Pajero’s 3.8-Liter MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system) petrol, and 3.2-Liter Turbocharged and Intercooled Common Rail Direct Injection Diesel (Di-D) power plant options.

The 3.8-Liter V6, 24-valve SOHC MIVEC engine puts out an incredible 250 PS at 6,000 RPM and a pulling power of 329 N-m at 2,750 RPM. On the other hand, the In-line 4 3.2-Liter, 16-valve DOHC Turbocharged and Intercooled Common Rail Di-D engine provides superior pulling power of 373 N-m at 2,000 RPM and a maximum output of 165 PS at 3,500 RPM. Both engines are complemented by Mitsubishi’s quiet and seamless INVECS-II

5-speed automatic transmission with Sportronic mode giving the Pajero excellent acceleration and confident cruising performance.

Exterior
The 2015 Pajero has a new bumper-integrated chrome-plated radiator front grille and new front bumper design with silver accent garnish that exudes a more aggressive yet refined look. The new front fascia also features new HID headlamps with Automatic High Beam Control function and new LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) and fog lamps. These new features do not only strengthen the Pajero’s front stylish character but also offers a safer drive. With the Automatic High Beam Control function, the Pajero’s headlamps automatically shift from high to low beam as a courtesy to oncoming vehicles.

A new sunroof with power tilt and slide functions also gives the Pajero a style of its own, while being able to offer illumination and natural ventilation.

The Pajero also stands on a set of new 18-inch alloy wheels, rounding off its more distinguished presence, while its new tailgate complemented with a newly designed spare tire carrier completes the 2015 Pajero’s exciting exterior.

Interior
Living up to offering mobility without compromise, the Pajero features a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, 4-way power adjustable front passenger seat, and options of black or beige plush genuine leather seats. Together with the new visually relaxing interior color combination of carbon fiber, piano black, and silver accents, the Pajero offers an elegant ambiance. It also features a 4-spoke leather steering wheel that houses both audio and cruise controls for the convenience of the driver.

Up front the center console is a Multi-Information Display that aids the driver to important information such as the vehicle’s average fuel consumption, average speed, barometer, compass, fuel drive range, outside temperature, and the date and time.

Just below the Multi-Information Display is the Pajero’s Multimedia Entertainment System featuring a 6.5-inch touchscreen LCD monitor which is capable of playing almost any multimedia source such as DVD, USB, smart phones, and other auxiliary devices. Its Bluetooth connectivity helps drivers keep their eyes on the road while taking calls on their mobile handsets while the dealer-option GPS technology makes the best possible route available right at their fingertips. The LCD monitor doubles its purpose for the reverse camera, making maneuvering in limited spaces a breeze. The audio system also provides additional information such as the dealer-option Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) which sends tire pressure and temperature alerts.

Fully automatic climate control system and dedicated rear air conditioner complete the Pajero’s interior that even the most discerning passengers would enjoy. The Mitsubishi Pajero indeed defines comfort like no other SUV in its class.

Safety
The Mitsubishi Pajero comes standard with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) for whatever road and load the Pajero is thrown with. In addition, Mitsubishi’s RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) Body, side impact beams, and driver and front passenger dual-stage, side, and curtain airbags offer the Pajero’s occupants all-around collision protection. The fuel tank is also placed between the axles as a safety design feature.

The 2015 Pajero continues to be completely imported from Japan and is set to make heads turn more than ever as it is now available in two (2) new two-tone color combinations, Sapporo Silver II (Skylark Gray on Sapporo Silver) and Claysoil Beige II (Riviera Green on Claysoil Beige). Monotone color options are Sapporo Silver, Quartz Brown Metallic, Slylark Gray, Rio Grande White, and Midnight Graphite.

The best advantage of the Pajero is that it continues to offer the best value in its class. Given the major changes on the 2015 Pajero, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines also announced that the Suggested Retail Price (SRP) is still maintained at P2,500,000 for the GLS 3.8 V6 Gas 4WD and P2,700,00 for the GLS 3.2 Di-D 4WD.
