During our coverage of the Samsung Galaxy S4 in New York last week, we brought with us a number of Android smartphones so we can do a side by side comparison. We had the Optimus G, the Galaxy S3, the HTC Butterfly, Xperia Z and the BlackBerry Z10.
Unfortunately, with the very limited time offered to us during the preview session, we were not able to take all side by side shots that we wanted to. Nevertheless, we’d like to share the few ones we were able to get.
The one above is the photo of the Galaxy S4 flanked by the Optimus G on the left and the Xperia Z on the right. The Galaxy S4 is as thin as the Xperia Z at 7.9mm. However, the camera on the S4 is protruding, making it thicker than the Xperia Z in that section.
The Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy S3, side by side. The Galaxy S3 is more rounded at the corners, the Galaxy S4 has a thinner frame and thinner bezel to accommodate the extra 0.19-inch display. Both have almost same body length and width.
The LG Optimus G is at the background with the Galaxy S4 at the foreground. That strip of silver lining around the edges is common to both.
The Galaxy S4 beside the Xperia Z. The Z looks much taller while the S4 looks more compact with both having the same 5-inch screens.
