NBI Cracked Down Php70M-worth of Fake Gizmos

Lazada Philippines

The National Bureau of Investigation, together with the Intellectual Property Office, Bureau of Customs and the PNP-CIDG, have raided a warehouse in Barraca Street, Binondo, Manila owned by LFA Enterprises and have seized counterfeit merchandises including fake smartphones and tablets amounting to Php70 million.

As Ben Entico, the Special Assistant to the District Collector of Port of Manila, pointed out, most if not all of the items that were seized during the raid bears a Made in China label on the packaging. However, some of the items (Samsung and Hyundai to name a few) have Made in Korea label but were stuffed inside boxes with Made in China markings which lead the investigation team to think that these are not only counterfeit products, but also smuggled articles.
