Kabankalan City celebrates 38th Sinulog de kabankalan Festival

Every January many towns and cities across the Philippines are in festival mode. Most popular among them are Cebu Kalibo and Iloilo as it celebrates the Sinulog, Ati-atihan and Dinagyang Festival, respectively.

But there are towns that also celebrate its fiesta during the month of January in honor of Senor Santo Nino, and among them is the City of Kabankalan, some 90 kilometers south of Bacolod in the province of Negros Occidental.

Very Captivating Capiz!

I have been to Capiz twice. But the last time I was in this part of Western Visayas was in 2009 when Roxas City, known to for its moniker as the Seafood Capital of the Philippines, hosted the Western Visayas Tourism Assembly.

There were some attempts on my part, go return to Roxas, but never pushed through. Then last month, i was scheduled to go to Antique. Funny thing is, Roxas, Capiz was originally not part of the plan, but yeah, it pushed through!

Iligan City holds 28th Kasadya Streetdancing Competition

A few weeks ago, I was invited to judge the 2013 Kasadya Streetdancing Competition, one of the major highlights of the Diyandi Festival in Iligan City.

For more than 20 years, the streetdancing competition is organized by JCI Iligan Chapter.

The festival is held as part of the celebration of the feast of Saint Michael Archangel, or more popularly known as San Miguel, the patron saint of Iligan City.
