Tangub City’s Christmas Symbol festival

Better late than never. Last December 1st I flew from Bacolod to Ozamiz with a 4-hour stopover at Mactan Cebu International Airport.

It was the first day of the last month of the year, but I was heading once again to Tangub City in Misamis Occidental to judge the annual Christmas Symbols Festival. The City has always been known as the Christmas Capital of Mindanao. And they pretty much know how to celebrate the Yuletide season with all the dazzling lights and colors.

Dalit Festival: Tangub City’s Festival of Thanksgiving

Last week of September I flew to Tangub City Misamis Occidental to judge the 2013 Dalit Festival. Dalit is a Cebuano term for Offering. This is my first time to witness the City’s streetdancing competition.

We arrived in Tangub City September 28, a day before the competition for the judges’ briefing. The competition is divided into two: streetdancing competition around the city’s streets and the ritual competition at the Grandstand.
