SanDisk officially outs world’s highest capacity microSD card

SanDisk claims to hold the world’s highest capacity microSD card in mobile devices with its freshly-announced Ultra microSDXC UHS-I Premium Edition. It’s a memory card the same size as a standard microSD card but can store up to 200GB worth of photos, music, and videos.

SanDisk-microSD200gb

“Ideal for Android smartphone and tablet users, this Premium Edition microSD card combines the world’s highest capacity and blazing fast transfer speed of up to 90MB/s to deliver premium performance.  At this transfer speed, consumers can expect to move up to 1,200 photos per minute,” SanDisk said.

Users can also download the Memory Zone app from SanDisk which will give more control over the phone’s memory storage. With it, they can monitor the memory level so once the internal storage reaches its user-defined threshold, the OptiMem feature kicks in and automatically transfers some of their old files to the microSD card. The app is compatible with most Android devices.

This 200GB microSD card has a price of $399.99 (approx. Php18K) and will be available worldwide starting April.
