Manny Pacquiao legendary hero skin arrives in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

World Boxing Legend Manny Pacquiao has become the newest skin for the game’s fighter hero, Paquito. So far, he is the only living person to be immortalized in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s collection of hero skins.

“We spent a total of 4 months to create the hero, Paquito. We extracted the spiritual core of Manny Pacquiao, and I’m sure our players feel the champion’s spirit when they play him in the game,” said Mr. William Mei, Marketing Manager of MLBB for the Philippines.

As per the MLBB team, it took them up to 6 months of constant communication with Manny Pacquiao’s team to create the final design of Paquito’s new skin. “Hundreds of photos of Manny were taken and collected to perfectly capture the in-game details such as tattoos, expressions, and other minute details,” Mei added.

“I felt very honored when Moonton approached me for this partnership,” said Pacquiao. “It’s hard to say no when you have a hero inspired by you in the game, and now, they will give him new skin which will have my name on it. It’s exciting,” he added.

Since Mobile Legends: Bang Bang released Paquito “The Heavenly Fist” last January 2021, a sales record was set within the first week. MLBB mentioned that one out of every seven Filipino players purchased him. Besides, Paquito has a usage rate of up to 3% in games above the rank of Legend with a win rate of 53%.

The new Paquito skin was launched today, April 13, and will last until September 15, 2021. During its launch, free avatar frames and in-game emoticons will also be given to gamers who will finish the in-game events.

Discounts for the skin will also be available on the first week, as well as a number of online activities for players to acquire the skin for free.

Mommy Dionisia at Mayor Pre Salic

Lumabas itong kolum sa Abante

Mommy Dionisia with Alma Moreno

Mommy Dionisia with Alma Moreno

Pacquiao’s ‘abhorrent’ remarks could be blessing in disguise

Manny Pacquiao in the TV5 interview .

Manny Pacquiao in the TV5 interview .

Two days after boxing icon Manny Pacquiao rebuked same sex couples as worse than animals, shoe giant Nike dropped him as endorser.

That was fast.

Observers said that was an easy decision for Nike because Pacquiao, 37, is at the sunset of his career after losing in two major fights: the one against Floyd Mayweather in May 2015 and earlier, in December 2013, to Juan Manuel Marquez. He says his April 9 fight with Timothy Bradley would be his last, although he has said it before with his other fights and went on to do more.

Nike’s announcement: “We find Manny Pacquiao’s comments abhorrent. Nike strongly opposes discrimination of any kind and has a long history of supporting and standing up for the rights of the LGBT community. We no longer have a relationship with Manny Pacquiao.”
It’s a knockout punch for Pacquiao whose endorsements make up the bulk of his boxing earnings. His camp is worried, we are told, that other sponsors might follow Nike.

Although Pacquiao, a senatorial candidate under the United Nationalist Alliance, said he remains against same-sex marriage despite his apology, he must be regretting what he told News5 last Monday. It was a standard question asked of every candidate running for a national position.

Pacquiao said: “As Christian, bawal naman ‘yung same-sex marriage.

The reactions from the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) community and their supporters were swift and emotional. Prominent gay celebrities like Vice Ganda and Boy Abunda issued statements that matched Pacquiao’s acidic quotes.

Abunda and Vice Ganda said they are not voting for Pacquiao for the Senate.

Why, if Pacquiao didn’t malign the LGBTs, Abunda and Vice Ganda were considering voting for him for senator?

This controversy over Paquiao’s “abhorrent” comments, to borrow from Nike, might yet turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
Pacquiao is considered a sure winner for senator in the May elections. All surveys put him within the Magic 12 even when he is not campaigning so much because he is busy preparing for his April fight with Bradley.

It is expected that voters will send him to the Senate despite the fact that his performance as congressman was dismal. He was a perennial absentee in Congress. In 2014, he only attended, four as in 1,2,3,4 sessions. A Philippine Star report said he has filed about a dozen bills but none has passed any of the committees they have been referred to, the first hurdle in the legislative mill.

Yet he collects all the emoluments due a member of Congress which runs into millions of pesos without giving the taxpayers the service due them. That is theft.

Pacquaio went into politics with a distorted sense of public service. In an interview with him in 2010 when he was running for Saranggani congressman, I asked him why he had to be a congressman to help the people when he was already doing it without being in government.

He replied: “Pera ko ang ginagastos ko. Kawawa naman ang pamilya ko. Mauubos ang pera ko.”

Pacquiao's housing project in Saranggani.

Pacquiao’s housing project in Saranggani.

A Feb. 14 post in his Facebook page showed rows of low-cost houses captioned: “I’m so happy giving this (sic) houses free to my constituents in Sarangani Province from my own pocket more than thousand families are the beneficiaries. And I’m still building more because i always believe what the Bible says; 1 Peter 4:8-10 NIV.”

Some maybe duped by this tale about Pacquaio’s generosity. But it’s not his personal money that was used to build the houses for his Saranggani constituents. It’s the Filipino people’s money that he collected as congressman without even working for it.
That way, he can continue to be “generous” at hindi mauubos ang pera niya.

If this controversy would make many people not vote for Pacquiao, then, we can only quote from Romans 11:33: “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!”

Social media comments more enjoyable than megafight

The winner?

The winner?

From where I confine myself every time there’s Pacquiao fight, I can tell if Manny is losing or winning by the shrieks and groans of those watching in the house and even among my neighbors.

Yesterday, everything was quiet. So I know who between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather won.

Mayweather won by unanimous decision affirming what he always brags about himself as the “undefeated champion.”

Alex Pal, a Dumaguete-based journalist related in Facebook that he was not able to see “The Fight of the Century” but he asked the taxi driver what was the result.

Alex’s reaction: “Wahaha!”

I don’t watch boxing because I don’t enjoy watching two people hit each other but I follow stories about Pacquiao. I admire him for rising from poverty through hard work.

My admiration for Pacquiao does not extend to his political career and I fervently hope he does not get deluded into aspiring to run for president.

Pacquiao’s loss by unanimous decision didn’t dent the fans affection for him as gleaned from comments in social media.

Hollywood actor Jim Carey posted a comment in Twitter: “Big let down in Vegas. Was that a boxing match or dancing with the stars?”

That’s the same reaction of Bibeth Orteza, movie and TV director, scriptwriter and actress. She wondered “Why did the judges allow May Anne Weather to ‘fight’” like that? “

“Singing contest judges don’t score you for dancing more than singing, right,” she asked.

Young business entrepreneur Jaime Garchitorena noted during the fight that Mayweather keeps running “It looks like he trained for a marathon instead of a boxing match,” he remarked.

Malaya Business Insight’s Che Francisco, “Akala ko si Pacquiao ang pulitiko. Bakit si Mayweather ang gusto-gustong tumakbo?”

Che suspects Mayweather is thinking of a change in sports: 100 sprint.

Those who watched the fight said aside from running, Mayweather kept on hugging Pacquiao prompting someone to say in Facebook that the American loves Pacquiao more than his girlfriends, many of them accused him of domestic violence.

VERA Files Lala Ordenes reposted comments of her relatives.

On the eve of the megafight. Joel Pablo Salud said if Pacquiao lost, there should be no pinpointing who is to blame: “Hindi si PNoy, hindi si GMA, hindi si ERAP, hindi si FVR, hindi si Cory at hindi si Marcos.”

He said: “Pagnatalo si Pacquiao bukas, ah pucha kasalanan ni Mayweather yan.

Poet Marne Kilates posted a lengthy comment but here’s my favorite part: “Pacquiao lost. That’s it. Ang talo, talo. …So what’s the point? The point is it’s not the end of the world. The point is it might make Pacquiao think twice about running for president. The point is it might make us think twice about voting for him. The point it is might make us think. Period. Have you ever thought how long we haven’t been doing that?”

Manny Pacquiao signs endorsement deal with EastWest Bank

In the midst of preparing for his long-awaited fight with Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao signed a new endorsement deal with EastWest Bank, a subsidiary of Gotianun-led Filinvest Development Corporation and one of the country’s fastest-growing banks.

Pacquiao said of his new endorsement, “I am proud to represent EastWest, a young bank that dreams big and works really hard to reach its goals, just like me.”

Like Pacquiao, EastWest Bank’s climb to success has been more than phenomenal. The universal bank started humbly with just a small network of branches, but aggressively expanded and grew to 405 branches.

EastWest CEO Antonio C. Moncupa Jr. said that the bank could not have chosen a better brand endorser than the world-renowned boxing champ.

“Pacquiao is a hero who embodies the excellent qualities of the Filipino spirit. Starting as an underdog, he has fought with bigger opponents and emerged as one of the greatest boxing champions the world has ever had.

“He has always been focused, disciplined and determined to win; and one who humbly dedicates his victory to God and country,” Moncupa said during the bank’s contract signing with the premier athlete.

By offering excellent products and services and investing in technology and training, EastWest has demonstrated as well the bank’s drive to excel. Like Pacquiao, EastWest’s spot-on strategies will allow the bank to leverage its momentum to be, pound-for-pound, one of the country’s best banks.
