Nokia Lumia 630 vs. Lumia 525: Which one’s worth it?

At Php7,990, is the Nokia Lumia 630 worth the higher price versus its more affordable sibling, the Lumia 525?


Here’s our quick tabular comparison.

At Php1,510 more (based on SRP), you get a slightly bigger and better screen, built-in display protection (Gorilla Glass 3), twice the processing power (quad vs. dual core), better battery life, larger storage expansion, FM radio, and dual-SIM with the Lumia 630.

On the other hand, the Lumia 525 trumps its bigger brother with its 1GB RAM. But since this is a Windows phone, RAM isn’t an issue when it comes to performance, though it may limit the 630’s app selection in the Windows Store.

While its cheaper sibling, the Lumia 525, has an angled face and a curved back, the more expensive 630 has rounded edges up front and an angled back.

Nokia Lumia 630 leaked ahead of launch

Twitter’s infamous leakster is at again, and his most recent tweets gave us an early peek at the upcoming budget Windows Phone from Nokia dubbed as the Lumia 630.

Some of details revealed in the leaked press shots include on-screen buttons, lack of built-in flash and vibrant color options (Lime Green, Orange, Yellow) in addition to usual Black and White variants.

The specs are still uncertain at this point in time, but the rumors suggests that the handset will rock a 4+ inch display with WVGA resolution, 8MP camera and will run on Windows Phone 8.1 right from the get go. Moreover, the handset is said to be powered by an entry-level Snapdragon processor which is accompanied by 1GB of RAM.

Lastly, it has been speculated that Nokia will release two version of this handset; one with LTE connectivity (rumored to be called Lumia 635) and a dual-SIM version (non-LTE). Nokia is expected to unveil the new addition to their Lumia product line sometime next month.
