OnePlus 2 advantages:

  • Has the biggest RAM (4GB)
  • Biggest battery (3,300mAh)
  • Costs only half the price of flagship phones

OnePlus 2 disadvantages:

  • Memory not expandable
  • Rear camera has lowest pixel count (13MP)
  • No NFC
  • Heaviest among the bunch (175 grams)

At par with flagship phones:

  • Corning Gorilla Glass 4
  • Processing power
  • Full HD display
  • 64GB internal storage
  • Dual-SIM/dual LTE
  • 5MP front camera
  • Android Lollipop

Basing on the specs sheet alone, the OnePlus 2 caught up with most of what other top-tier smartphones have and even had a couple of better components like RAM and battery capacity.

Although do keep in mind that it’s not all about the technical specifications and only a real test in real-life usage of the device would then we be able to point out the advantages and disadvantages of each.

LG G4 Launch, Singapore

We’re here in Singapore to cover live the global launching of the LG G4. The launch will be held in 4 different countries, including Turkey, UK and the US.

The Singapore event will start at 10AM tomorrow and we should be able to provide you with live updates throughout the program.

Just keep tabs on this page for details as we get them.

At the moment, the London and New York launches are happening.

LG did not really change the look of the G4 compared to the G3. The hardware is slightly different but with much attention given to the camera module.

LG G4 specs:
5.5-inch QHD IPS Quantum Display @ 1440×2560 pixels, 538ppi
Corning Gorilla Glass 4
Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 1.8GHz hexa-core processor
Adreno 418 GPU
3GB RAM
32GB internal storage
128GB via microSD card
X10 LTE 450Mbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac
Bluetooth 4.0, A2DP, LE, apt-X
NFC
Infrared
FM Radio, RDS
GPS with aGPS support, GLONASS
16MP f/1.8 AF rear camera with dual LED, dual tone Flash
8MP front camera
4K video recording
Camera RAW support
Android 5.1 Lollipop
3,000mAh removable Li-Ion battery
Cowhide leather back cover

The use of Snapdragon 808 gives us a good hint why LG didn’t go with the Snapdragon 810 as they’ve experienced with the G Flex 2.

The removable battery also supports fast charging (Quick Charge 2.0) with 60% battery load in just 30 minutes.

The authentic cowhide leather cover and basic covers comes in various colors — grey, white, gold, leather black, Leather Brown, Leather Red Grey, White, Gold, Leather Black, Leather Brown, Leather Red.

That pretty sums up everything there is to know about the new LG G4.

That means our work for tomorrow will be mostly about the hands-on, benchmarks and getting sample videos/photos as well as details for the Philippine launch.

LG G4 price confirmed to cost higher than Galaxy S6

The awaited LG G4 was recently priced for pre-orders in South Korea and it apparently costs more than the Samsung Galaxy S6. Find out why right after the break.

lg-g4-leather

LG G4 was listed over at SK Telecom and T World Direct’s website (South Korea’s local carriers) with an asking price of $825 (approx. Php36.4K). This puts the new flagship $30 more expensive than the 32GB Galaxy S6 when it came out. Although do take note that an official representative from LG Electronics pointed out that the listed price isn’t entirely final, but would most likely be in the same range.

The company’s representative also mentioned that this is because LG G4 is poised to be more of a Galaxy S6 Edge competitor because of its advanced camera, premium form factor, among other things — putting it in the position to demand a higher tag than the S6.

So far, it’s been revealed that the new LG G4 will tout a 5.5-inch QHD IPS Quantum display, Snapdragon 808 CPU, 3GB RAM, a 16MP rear camera, 3000mAh removable battery, and a microSD slot. It will be formally launched in a few days so keep on checking this page for the official specs when it arrives.
