LG shows off full specs, photos, & features of new LG G3

With the official release of the LG G3 just around the corner, the company’s website in Netherlands reveals the full list of specs for its new flagship smartphone. It also comes with the phone’s new features and product photos for those who simply couldn’t wait for the announcement.

“Android 4.2.2 KitKat”The specs reveal a confusing 4.2.2 KitKat but it could well be just a typo and the G3 is most likely to come with an Android 4.4 OS (it won’t be worthy to be the next flagship if it still runs on Android 4.2.2). Moreover, there is also a possibility of different variants since we’ve been expecting 3GB RAM on board with 32GB memory but the list shows a lower 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

Feature-wise, the LG G3 is said to have wireless charging and a lineup of new functions for its rear camera. A previous report proved true with the laser autofocus for faster focus and sharper photos. There’s also the dual LED flash and BSI sensor for dimly-lit places. Taking a selfie with a simple hand movement is also supported and lastly, enabling a Touch & Shoot mode to remove all unneeded icons in the viewfinder is now possible.

The site also tells us what type of form factor we’ll be seeing for the G3. According to the website, its body will be made of lightweight metallic casing with a “floating ark” shape – making the sides thinner and more comfortable to operate with one hand.

Software also got tweaked. There’s now the integrated Smart Notice which is basically the Concierge function that was rumored before. It acts similar to Google Now by notifying you with important details. Additionally, enhancements on the virtual keyboard now lets you adjust its size depending on the way you use and type on it.

It’s still a bit confusing as to what the LG G3 will exactly be like, but the wait is about to end. Tomorrow we have the official specs of this smartphone straight from the launch that we’ll be covering.

LG G3 to feature Laser Autofocus

Aside from the premium build and top-notch specs, LG is reported to bring a new and worthy feature on the upcoming G3 – Laser Autofocus.

According to The Verge, they have confirmation that the LG G3 will feature the new laser autofocus that can detect the depth of the subject to be photographed. In theory, this should give the G3 faster focus which is very essential when shooting moving subjects, or when in low-light conditions. Combine that with the G3′s 13 megapixel sensor with Optical Image Stabilization and you’re looking at a very capable smartphone shooter.

We’ll surely learn more about the LG G3′s new camera system when it launches on the 28th. We’ll be covering the event live in Singapore so stay tuned.

Want to know what the upcoming LG G3 looks like in its entirety? Then take a look at these leaked renders which showcase the G3′s beauty in white, black, and gold.

PhoneArena managed to obtain the press renders of the LG G3, showing the upcoming flagship sporting really thin bezels, a brushed metal finish, redesigned rear keys, and a sleeker and premium-looking design. It even comes in white, black, and gold.

Rumored specs of the G3 include the 5.5-inch Quad HD display at 534ppi, Snapdragon 805 Soc, 3GB RAM, and 13 megapixel OIS camera with dual-LED flash.

Although the renders look legit, there’s no mention of it being “official”, but if it turns out to be the real thing, then the LG G3 is certainly one of the best-looking smartphones to date.

LG G3 launching in Singapore on May 28

LG Mobile has sent out invitations for what could be the launch of the LG G3 in 6 cities across the globe. The closest regional hub for us is Singapore and we can confirm that it is indeed happening on May 28 (at least in our region).

The May 27 launch will happen in San Francisco, New York, and London while the May 28 event is for Seoul, Singapore and Istanbul.

We got an invite for the Singapore event on the 28th and the 29th and while there are no specific details yet, we can safely say it will be the LG G3 (considering this a a huge global event).

We’ll bring you more hands-on details during our coverage there so stay tuned for that.
