Benchmark for alleged Galaxy S7 variant surfaces

Since most of the awaited flagships have already been introduced, it’s now time to go back to looking forward to future releases. This time it’s with Samsung and its smartphone that should follow the current S6. Sammobile reports that a possible variant of the Galaxy S7 appears on a benchmarking test result which reveals some of its specs.

The Geekbench result shows that the device performs on Exynos8890 chipset with 8 cores, runs on an Android 5.0.2, and is codenamed Lucky. It will have a rather modest 3GB RAM which, along with its other internals, perform altogether to get a 5,434 multi-core test.

This could be one of the variants of Samsung’s ‘Next Big Thing’ since there are also possibilities of a model sporting a Snapdragon processor (just like what the company is currently doing). As of now, take these details with a grain of salt until we get more concrete facts to satisfy the specs-hunger within you.

HTC One A9 specs surface: Deca-core CPU w/ 4GB RAM

Codenamed Aero, the results from GeekBench shows that the HTC One A9 is powered by a 10-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor partnered by 4GB of RAM. The CPU is made up of two Cortex-A72 cores, while the 8 other Cortex-A53 cores is split into two different groups so as to rev up its performance to the maximum but at the same time prove efficient in terms of power consumption.

Connectivity-wise, an LTE Cat. 6 is onboard that claims will reach theoretical peak download speeds of up to 300Mbps and 50Mbps of upload speed. The benchmark test reveals a multi-core score of 5,884. This shows that MediaTek’s Helio X20 combined with a generous RAM trumps the Samsung Exynos 7420 which currently tops the benchmarking list at 4,387.

Finally, running the entire show is Android 5.1.1 operating system to make sure user experience is smooth and snappy.

The company has already sent out invites on September 29, so it might be at this event the One A9 will make its official debut. Stay tuned.

iPhone 6S and 6S Plus display details emerge

If we were to go by the leaker’s report, the iPhone 6S would have a 2000 x 1125 pixels, while its bigger brother 6S Plus would stretch out to 2208 x 1242 resolution. This would result to a leap in pixel count from 326 to 488ppi and 401 to 460ppi for the current iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, respectively.

There have been a few rumors and leaks before, but this is the first time details about the display have been given close attention to.

In addition, there were benchmark scores from Geekbench published on the same site that show a 1.8GHz Apple A9 chip and 2GB RAM running on what is to be believed as an iPhone 6S. It scored 2,248 for its single-core test and 4,038 for the multi-core benchmark. For reference, real scores for iPhone 6’s 2014 results are 1,610 and 2,883 — meaning the new iPhone would show a huge improvement if these prove true.

It’s only a few days’ time until we hear the official announcement from Apple. Are you excited?
