Kata Philippines announces pre-order of C1

Kata Philippines’ new Android smartphone, C1, will be up for pre-order through their outlets.

The Kata C1 sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD, a quad-core processor running at 1.3GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage. It has a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera for photography. And yes, it has Dual-SIM capability.

Kata M3 Hands-On

Kata recently announced that the newest addition to its portfolio, the M3, is now available for pre-order. We happened to spot a demo unit at their SM North Edsa kiosk yesterday, and here’s our initial impressions after a short encounter.

The M3 is a 5.5-inch device, and the size does show that it’s really big and slightly bulky. To give you an idea of where’s which, the 3.5mm audio jack is at the top, while the microUSB port is at the bottom end along with the microphone. The volume rockers and the power/lock button are at opposing sides of the device.

At the back of the device are its camera, two LED flashes just below it, and the small speaker grill near the bottom. Donning a navy blue-colored polycarbonate back with a slightly glossy finish, it is quite prone to fingerprint smudges. It’s also worth noting that the front speaker for receiving calls has a concentric ring design accent reminiscent to those on Asus Zenfone smartphone chins, and the sides have metallic accents as well.

The display is bright and vivid, offering crisp details, and good viewing on any angle. The performance, to say the least, was very fluid. the device feels really snappy and apps open in no time.

Kata i4 now available at Lazada, retails for Php9,799

Let’s take a moment away from all the MWC posts and bring some local news. Remember the Kata i4 which had its pre-order selling last January? It’s now available on e-commerce website Lazada, and the price doesn’t veer that much away from the first one announced.
