You’ve probably heard of the news that Miami Heat superstar Lebron James is paying his Filipino fans a visit as a part of his Asian tour called “Witness History”. Thousands of die-hard fans and scalpers flocked to the Nike Park at BGC to be part of this once in a lifetime chance to see their idol. Wait, did I just say SCALPERS?!
Yes, that’s right! Among the thousands of fans who lined up to get a pair of tickets to see the NBA superstar are scalpers who are now selling their FREE tickets on online stores like Sulit and AyosDito.
Just to reiterate, these tickets are given for free and are sponsored by Nike PH, so technically other than their transportation and their so-called “effort” of lining up since amidst the occasional rains, they didn’t spend a dime on it.
So how much are they selling it? Well, the price differs from seller to seller depending on the location of the seat (and how greedy they are), but the price ranges from Php1,500 to Php5,000. The greediest of them all, is selling/sold his Upper Box ticket for Php10,000.
Can you call them scumbags? Yeah, probably. But let’s face it, not everyone has the luxury to line up to get tickets to see Lebron James. If you’re one of those people, at least you can still see your basketball idol. That is, of course, if you’re willing to pay for something that’s supposed to be free.
