Many smartphone users are all about the specs, while some are more easily fascinated with the looks. A recent leak might appeal to the latter as a pink iPhone6S appears and many people have already  expressed their interest online.

This isn’t quite new since there have been rumors of a pink iPhone 6S since before, but these set of new photos further pushes their possible existence. Ever since these hearsay surfaced, there have been reportedly hundreds of thousands of people who have shared the photos since it undoubtedly is a looker.

While most of us have already completely embraced the touch method of today’s smartphones, the Japanese apparently still is in love with the old-school flip phones’ form factor. This is why artist and industrial designer Martin Hajek created this Flip iPhone concept that fuses Apple’s software on a clamshell body.

Here’s how Hajek thought of the concept:

Over in Japan people are still crazy for these so-called ‘garakei’ phones; the huge flipphones which have been around for ages. Despite the iPhone’s huge popularity in Japan the Japanese just can’t get enough of these mobile monstrosities. Presenting the garakeiPhone! Probably too difficult to engineer but still – a fun project to do … and hopefully see. :-)

Here’s a fix for the iOS bug that crashes iPhones

We’ve previously reported about an iOS bug that plagues certain iPhones by sending a malicious SMS. Apple has been made aware of this and now offers a temporary fix while they prep an update.

Here’s what you can do just in case you get the text that could render your phone useless:

  • Ask Siri to “read unread messages.”
  • Use Siri to reply to the malicious message. After you reply, you’ll be able to open Messages again
  • In Messages, swipe left to delete the entire thread. Or tap and hold the malicious message, tap More, and delete the message from the thread.

The Cupertino company mentions that the bug is caused by a specific series of unicode characters and that they are in the process of making a software update that would hopefully prevent this from happening again. Until then, we can just follow the method above.

This iOS bug crashes your iPhone using one text message

There is a major bug spreading via text message that causes iPhones to crash.

The message is comprised of Arabic letters and can be received through SMS or iMessage. Once you receive this while the phone is in locked screen mode, it can cause the Messages app to completely stop working and eventually crash the entire phone. TNW mentions that the bug could be related to iOS processing of its Unicode text.

Beware of any messages containing the following characters:

?????????????????? ? ?h ? ? ?

As for the workaround, you must “send a photo or piece of text to the original sender using the share sheet in another app.” Reports also state the it is currently affecting iPhones running iOS 7 and 8. Apple is already aware of the matter and is working on a fix.
