Globe outs postpaid plans for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus

A week before the official availability of the new iPhones, Globe Telecom has announced the postpaid plans for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

The iPhone 6s 16GB will be available on Plan 1799 with Php450 monthly cash-out, while the iPhone 6s Plus will also be available on Plan 1799 with Php650 monthly cash-out. Lock-in period is 24 months.

Plan 1799 comes with the following perks:
* 10GB of mobile data per month (until December 31, 2015 only)
* Free Spotify Premium, HOOQ, Mobile Games for 3 months
* Free access to Facebook, Viber, and Instagram for 24 months
* Unlimited calls to Globe and TM
* Unlimited texts to all networks for 24 months
* Free Gadget Care for 30 days

The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s will be available beginning November 6, 2015.

Apple’s new iPhone 6S might look the same as last year’s model but there are lots more on the inside that might convince fans to grab the latest one. Apple did not stop there and introduced a totally new Rose Gold color as well.

What we did not like:

  • Same look as the old one
  • Thicker and heavier
  • Poor battery life
  • Quite expensive
  • No expandable storage
  • Non-removable battery

iPhone 6S unboxed, in the flesh!

Apple has finally released the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus in select markets this week and we were able to purchase a unit to review.

Perhaps the most obvious question is how different is the iPhone 6S from the iPhone 6. It’s actually the first thing we checked after unboxing the unit. This quick video gives you a rundown of the similarities and differences between the two generations of iPhones.

It’s actually hard to see any physical difference between the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6S. The only quickest way to find out if it’s the new model is the letter S printed below the iPhone logo at the back.

This means that most of what’s really new in the iPhone 6S are all found under the hood. We were a little skeptic about 3D Touch before but after using it for a short while, we understood its practical purpose.

In the full review we will publish next week, we will find out how huge is the performance upgrade from the previous generation, how good the camera quality is and if the battery life has improved so stay tuned for that.

For the Philippines, it is yet unsure when the iPhone 6S will be officially released but based on previous schedules, it could be sometime in October.
