iPhone 6 Plus had bendgate, Note 4 now has gapgate

Lazada Philippines

Users of the recently-announced Galaxy Note 4 report that they are seeing a major defect on their device which shows a significant gap between the phablet’s body and its display – thus the term “gapgate”.

After numerous complains on the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus’ body easily bending when applied slight pressure and after other brands made fun of it, it seems like Samsung is getting the spotlight right now but not in a good way. South Korean users, where the Galaxy Note 4 was released last September 26, said that the gap in their device is thick enough to fit 2 sheets of A4 bond papers or a slightly thicker business card. It may seem like a harmless design issue, but it might affect the internals of the Note 4 in the long run since dust, lint, and even water could easily penetrate the device.

Samsung has been made aware of this issue and is already looking for a solution, although they haven’t released an official statement yet. After the ridicule that Apple got from Samsung, will they retaliate and fire some shots back at the South Korean company?

iPhone 6 Plus bends in your pocket, Note 3 doesn’t

Lazada Philippines

Just weeks in after the release of the new iPhones, a problem is being reported that the new iPhones, especially the iPhone 6 Plus due to its large size, significantly bend easily, destroying the form of the smartphone.

iPhone 6 Plus Note 3 bends

This is not a rare case scenario as a lot of users have been using the hashtag #BendGate to spark discussion, and it goes to tell that the iPhone 6 Plus bends even when it is just sitting inside your pocket for a long time.

Some will defend that even older iPhones and most smartphones will bend if given enough pressure (Unbox Therapy retweeted bent Apple products today) and some will say that if only Apple didn’t make the device so thin, the company could have ended up making a better phone with no protruding camera hump, better battery life & a more solid build quality.

The videos above confirms the reports, showing how easy it is to bend, and to confirm that this issue is not exclusive to the iPhone 6 Plus, Unbox Therapy also tries to bend the Note 3 to which it does bend, but it returns back to its original form without breaking.

iPhone 6 already out of stock from pre-orders

Lazada Philippines

After Apple and other service providers started accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus it’s been reported that a huge number of buyers have already placed their orders, calling it the biggest iPhone pre-order batch ever. It resulted to long queuing and even stocks running out.

Apple’s online store is already out of stock for both variants of the iPhone 6. America’s major retailers like Verizon and AT&T that also accept pre-orders still have a few, but are also nearing depletion. AT&T CEO has commented on the matter saying, “This is our biggest iPhone, pre-order launch day ever.” With congested servers left and right due to people wanting to be one of the first to have the latest iPhone.

“Response to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus has been incredible, with a record number of pre-orders overnight,” Apple said.

According to some unsuccessful buyers the Apple Store website was down in a lot of regions for two hours after the announced product kick-off. The company’s text-chat support was also non-functional and calling them on their hotlines lead them to an automated message without any representatives present. In addition, those who ordered the bigger 6 Plus is likely looking at 3-4 weeks before it ships, while the 4.7-inch variant is reported to arrive two weeks late according to US carriers.
