Apple replaces iPad 2 with iPad with Retina Display

It seems that Apple has finally come to their senses (or they’ve ran out stocks of the iPad 2), because the Cupertino-based firm has finally pulled the plug on its three year old slate in favor of the Retina-display-touting iPad 4.

Just to do a quick recap, Apple decided to scrap the iPad 4 when they announced its successor, the iPad Air. But in order to fill in void in the entry-level department, the company decided to resurrect the iPad 2 from the grave which, in our opinion, was rather ridiculous.

Fast forward five months and the iPad 4 is now manning the entry-level post. The Wi-Fi only model has the same price tag as the iPad Mini with Retina Display (Php22,990) while the data-enabled version will set you back Php28,490.

Do note though that unlike its successor and the iPad Mini 2, the iPad with Retina Display is only available in 16GB storage capacity.
