Hong Kong-based modder named Chi-Kiu Lam has recent set a new world record for the highest frequency for an Intel Core i7-4770K which was overclocked to 7193.8MHz.
In order to reach this insane clock speed, Chi-Kiu Lam had to raise the core voltage to 2.048 volts and had to use Liquid Nitrogen to prevent the system from overheating.
Now here’s a look at the components the modder used on his way to reaching his record-setting OC:
ASUS ROG Maximus VII Gene
3.5GHz Intel Core i7-4770K quad-core processor, up to 3.9GHz
Overclocked to 7193.8MHz
256GB OCZ Vertex SSD
Corsair Dominator DDR3 RAM
Galaxy GeForce GT 630 (HOF) Edition, DDR3
Antec High Current PRO 1300W PSU
