5 Signs You Were Lonely Last Valentine’s Day

With the highlight event of February already done being celebrated last weekend, couples were scattered everywhere with their bouquet of roses and heart-shaped chocolates. In contrast there were also individuals that chose (or were just unlucky) to be alone during this day. Where did you belong? Here are 5 Signs You Were Lonely Last Valentine’s Day.

1. You checked your ex’s Facebook at least three times for the whole day (once after breakfast, lunch, and dinner)

If you noticed yourself clicking your ex’s profile at least three times a day last Valentine’s, then someone just hasn’t moved on yet (HINT: It’s not your ex). Yes, stalking her profile may satisfy your curiosity in finding out what she was up to, but what if you see her photo with her new date? Not so smart idea now, is it?

2. Uploaded a happy-but-secretly-sad post

Sure, you posted a selfie and captioned it saying that you’re happier like never before and “you feel a lot more free” not being in a relationship, but your photo sure looks like you’re still in pain from whatever she did.

3. (Really) Active on Dating Apps

We recently gave you 5 Dating Apps to Get Your Flirt On and if you enjoyed swiping left and right so much that you just ended up being on Tinder the whole day then you might be a bit too lonely. Remember, what good are those apps for when you can only go as far as chatting with people online? Go out and meet someone!

4. Did Physical Activities

No, not that kind of physical activity you do when you’re alone. We’re talking about going to the gym and telling people that you’re getting ripped for #Laboracay, or riding a bike with friends just to have a reason to go out of the house and get her out of your head. Basically, you spent your Valentine’s Day by making yourself look better (love yourself more than anyone else as they say!)

5. Faked a “romantic” post

Lastly, you definitely know you were lonely last Heart’s Day if you posted something that may seem to look like a sweet moment between you and your lover, but in reality is just a one-man effort.

The reason why Facebook/IG/Tinder was recently down

Yesterday, January 27, users of Facebook as well as other social media sites worldwide reported that they couldn’t access the website because “something went wrong”. Most people thought it was another hack attack from a group of cyber terrorists, but Facebook explains the real reason behind it.

In addition to Facebook, Instagram and match-maker app Tinder (both owned by Facebook) were also offline around 2:30PM PHT yesterday.

Lizard Squad, a group of cyber terrorists, claimed that they’re the reason these sites were offline. Speculations arose that a certain type of cyber attack, DDoS (distributed denial-of-service), was used — forcing the website to crash due to huge amounts of traffic specifically concentrated on them until the sites could no longer hold it.

Although this may be the case, a Facebook spokesperson stepped forward and told The Verge that it was “not the result of a third party attack but instead occurred after we introduced a change that affected our configuration systems.” After which the spokesperson added that their engineers “moved quickly to fix the problem, and services are back to 100% for everyone.”

True enough, the outage of the sites and mobile apps only lasted for about an hour until everything was up and running again.

Pope Francis Inspires the People of Instagram

As we’ve mentioned in our previous article not only did the Filipinos have fun at the duration of the event, but they were also greatly blessed because of it. Let’s take a look at how the Pope inspired the people of Instagram during his recent trip to our country.

Just like the article that was earlier shared, we still used the official hashtags for the Pope as well as other related tags when he was here. They lead us to these photos that truly captured the emotion of the moment.

Welcome Pope Francis to our Home and into our Hearts #PopePh #PopeFrancisInPh #PopeFrancisPH

You are a manifestation of God’s love for us, Holy Father. He brought you to us like sunshine in the rain for Him to show how much He cares for us especially in times of our grief. Thank you, Pope Francis, for reminding us that we were never – at any moment of our lives – forsaken by God and you did this by pointing to the Cross, the symbol of Jesus’ sacrifice for mankind. Your presence alone stirred a tsunami of emotions among the Filipinos, bringing tears in our eyes and smiles in our lips. From Asia to Vatican, we send you our prayers, love and gratitude. We ask the Lord to bless you with His unending grace as you continue your mission to evangelize the world as the Vicar of Christ. We will miss you, your smile, your surprises, your encouraging words, and we’ll be happy to welcome you back someday. And when we meet again, we hope that you’ll be proud of us because we have translated the lessons you taught us into concrete acts of love. Muchas Gracias, Papa Francesco! From the bottom of our hearts, we love you, @pontifex! ? #PapalVisitPH #DearPopeFrancis #BlessedbythePope #MercyandCompassion (Photo: AFP) A photo posted by Jeremy Perey (@jeremyperey) on

Truly, social media is a powerful tool when used properly. Through these media-sharing sites the people present at the place were able to share not only the event but also the gift of inspiration to others that didn’t make it to see the Pope.

You may share your experiences if you were part of the record-breaking attendance during the mass last weekend. Hopefully you didn’t upload photos with the wrong set of hashtags during that time or you might’ve been included in our “Wrong but Funny #DearPopeFrancis Instagrams“.
