Sony a7 II specs:
Sensor Type: 35mm full-frame Exmor CMOS sensor
Effective Pixels: 24.3MP
ISO Sensitivity: 50-25600
Viewfinder type: 0.5”-type EVF
Screen type: 3-inch TFT LCD

These 5 camera shakes are now detected and optically stabilized to produce sharper images.

Some of the a7 II’s most notable features include:

  • Detecting and correcting five camera shakes (pitch and yaw, X and Y axes, and roll) for a more stabilized shot even without a tripod.
  • The 24.3-megapixel 35mm full-frame Exmor CMOS sensor itself moves to compensate for these kinds of shakes.
  • Stabilization is equal to up to 4.5 steps faster shutter speed of correction for still images.
  • Camera’s IS is still effective even when used with E-mount lenses without Optical SteadyShot (OSS).
  • Handheld shooting with low-light and slow shutter speed is now possible.
  • Users can monitor corrected image in real-time on the camera’s LCD screen or in the OLED viewfinder  for fine-tuned framing and focusing.
  • Autofocus is promised to be very responsive?–?30% faster than in previous models.
  • Predicts the next movement of the subject for tracking shots thanks to a more advanced algorithm.

The Sony a7 II sells in the Philippines for Php89,999 for the body alone, while having a 28-70mm kit lens will set you back Php105,999.

More details on OnePlus One smartphone confirmed

We’ve previously reported of an upcoming CyanogenMod device from the Chinese company OnePlus that was said to battle the likes of other flagship Android phones for a lower price tag. Now, the OnePlus One smartphone has been confirmed of a Sony Exmor sensor that shoots 4K videos. More details after the break.

OnePlus’ CEO and former Oppo executive Pete Lau has revealed more of One’s specs in a forum post, mainly regarding its camera. Below are the new details:

6-piece 13MP f/2.0 Sony Exmor IMX214 CMOS sensor
Image Stabilization Plus (IS+)
4K video recording
120 fps at 720p for slow motion videos

According to Lau, their team opted to go for Sony’s Exmor sensor as it boasts an impressive f/2.0 aperture to capture more light. The problem is, low aperture cameras are often distorted on the edges so what the company did was to add an additional 6th lens to properly compensate for any distortion and at the same time enhance image quality and colors.

Choosing Sony for the phone’s camera isn’t really a surprise since its display will be made by JDI — a display manufacturer which Sony is a part of.

As a recap, here’s what the company previously confirmed for the One:

2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor
5.5-inch Full HD JDI display in a 5-inch body
Non-removable 3100mAh battery
Hands-free voice commands like the Moto X

The OnePlus One will make it on store shelves at the second half of the year with a price tag under $400 (or Php17,000). Stay tuned for more updates regarding this new player.
