Following lots of leaked details, photos and videos, the All New HTC One finally gets announced and is set to kill with a curvier aluminum design, a set of improved cameras and a huge bump in the hardware department in almost every way.
The screen is now larger at 5-inches and features on-screen buttons, dropping the confusing capacitive button layout on last year’s One. The resolution is still at 1080 x 1920 but a lot won’t seem to mind as 2K displays aren’t even a norm yet.
There are three cameras on the HTC One; there is a five megapixel “selfie” camera up front and there are two cameras on the back – one of the 4 megapixel UltraPixel kind and one with a resolution of 2 megapixels, both designed for capturing the correct details and depths of the photos.
This year’s HTC One is rocking a Snapdragon 801 CPU packed with 2GB RAM and is powered by a larger 2,600mAh battery that the company claims can last 40% more than the first one. On the software side of things, KitKat runs the show with HTC’s Sixth Sense, offering themes, more colors and much more refined design elements that can be seen in their apps such as BlinkFeed, the camera & more.
In addition to all of that, the BoomSound speakers are also facing an upgrade, now being able to go 25% louder. Also, for the memory enthusiasts, HTC adds a micro SD card slot which is nice to have and a neat looking dotted case for the time and weather.
