HTC One Mini 2 press images leak

Following the trend, HTC’s flagship phone, the HTC One M8, seems to be getting a Mini counterpart once again in the form of the HTC One Mini 2, something that just leaked very recently.

HTC One Mini 2

As you can see above, the phone looks like it’s going to have the same color variants and textures like its bigger brother. BoomSound is also making its way into the design, and if you would notice, the duo camera system is no longer found here. The rest of the specs and the features are still unknown, but it looks like it’s going to be a tuned down version of the flagship once again judging from the exclusion of the second camera sensor.

HTC announced the previous One Mini back in July last year, so we wouldn’t be surprised if they release it at that time this year or earlier.

HTC One 2014 (M8) now official!

Following lots of leaked details, photos and videos, the All New HTC One finally gets announced and is set to kill with a curvier aluminum design, a set of improved cameras and a huge bump in the hardware department in almost every way.

HTC ONE m8

The screen is now larger at 5-inches and features on-screen buttons, dropping the confusing capacitive button layout on last year’s One. The resolution is still at 1080 x 1920 but a lot won’t seem to mind as 2K displays aren’t even a norm yet.

There are three cameras on the HTC One; there is a five megapixel “selfie” camera up front and there are two cameras on the back – one of the 4 megapixel UltraPixel kind and one with a resolution of 2 megapixels, both designed for capturing the correct details and depths of the photos.

This year’s HTC One is rocking a Snapdragon 801 CPU packed with 2GB RAM and is powered by a larger 2,600mAh battery that the company claims can last 40% more than the first one. On the software side of things, KitKat runs the show with HTC’s Sixth Sense, offering themes, more colors and much more refined design elements that can be seen in their apps such as BlinkFeed, the camera & more.

In addition to all of that, the BoomSound speakers are also facing an upgrade, now being able to go 25% louder. Also, for the memory enthusiasts, HTC adds a micro SD card slot which is nice to have and a neat looking dotted case for the time and weather.

HTC One 2014 (M8) specs:
5-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920) Super LCD3, 441ppi
Corning Gorilla Glass 3
2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core CPU
Adreno 330 GPU
2GB RAM
16/32/64GB internal storage
up to 128GB via microSD
Dual 4 megapixel Ultrapixel rear camera, dual-LED flash
5 megapixel front-facing camera
LTE, HSPA+
WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot
Bluetooth 4.0 w/ A2DP

GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS

Android 4.4.2 Kitkat w/ HTC Sense UI 6
2,600mAh battery
146.4 x 70.6 x 9.4 mm

The phone is releasing in a few countries before the end of April, but for the Philippines, the HTC One 2014 could be available in May or later.

HTC promises to replace cracked displays for free

HTC gives users the assurance that the company will fix their busted screen without any charge. This is because of a new initiative called HTC Advantage.

HTC EDITED

HTC must’ve been getting a lot of complaints on faulty displays, or they just want to give consumers additional value for their money. Either way, this is good news for HTC fans.

Starting Feb 18, 2014, a one-time free screen replacement will be guaranteed on the first six months of the device. The devices eligible for Advantage are HTC One, One Mini, and One max. Do take note that this offering starts only today; so if you bought your HTC One Mini last week and you break it, then you’re not covered by this new implementation. Sorry.

As of now, HTC Advantage is only for US-based owners. Let’s hope that this useful service gets across the Philippine shores. And of course, we’re here to keep you updated.
