We just received a notification for a software update on one of our HTC One handsets. The update includes bug fixes, enhancements and upgrade to Android 4.4 Kitkat.
We have both a Globe-issued silver HTC One and an HK imported red HTC One. So far, the red HTC One is the first one to get the update.
The first roll-out was way back in February for the UK/EU region but it was suspended for some undertermined reasons.
The Android 4.4.2 update is around 430MB in size and delivered via OTA. Aside from the security updates and minor cosmetic changes, most of the update are for the back-end.
There are additional Bluetooth profiles to support more media devices, a short-cut to the HTC Mini+ companion device and native support for Cloud Print.
The custom UI remains to be Sense 5.5 still as well as Blink. We’ll update this once we get a ping from the Globe-issued unit.
