HP unveils EliteBook Folio 1020

It may be the last month of the year, but that doesn’t HP from announcing a new line of laptops, including the slim and sexy EliteBook Folio 1020.

HPEliteBook1020

Dressed in an ultra-thin body with weight that can almost match that of the Apple MacBook Air at 1.2 kg, the Folio 1020 sports a high resolution 12.5-inch diagonal Quad HD (QHD) display, 8GB of RAM, an SSD that ranges from 128GB to 256GB, and touts up to 9 hours of battery life. The Folio 1020 will run on Intel’s Core M processor with HP’s own noise reduction technology that the company claims a near-silent operation in collaborative environments.

The laptop also includes a few security tools such as a fingerprint reader, HP’s Sure Start self-healing BIOS, and other protocols to ensure the safety of the device and the data inside it. The device is also said to have passed rigorous military-grade tests which include drops, shocks, and exposure to extremes of temperature and humidity, and high pressure testing.

No word as of the pricing, but the Folio 1020 will hit shelves February next year, while a much lighter Folio 1020 Special Edition with a carbon-fiber body will be available two months later.
